What vsts permissions are needed? we are getting AuthenticationExceptions

After seeing the Request to Allow/Deny the permission, if we click "Allow" we get this stack trace on visual studio online:

Hi,

 

We saw that issue. Our issue was also that people we using Chrome/Firefox in Windows 10 (as their default browser). When they either switched the default to edge or just copied the auth link to edge and continued it worked fine. For anyone doing this, make sure you have fully logged into TFS/VSTS and have navigated to the dashboard in Edge/IE before you try to auth, otherwise you will get the same error (as the previous post states).

Hello Phil,

The user that is currently signed in VSTS in your default browser need to be a member of at least one of the projects in the account and have at least read-only access to it's builds.

Please check that:

1. In the default browser, user that is currently signed in with Microsoft account is the one that have access to the VSTS.

2. Collection URL for VSTS is correct, starts with https and does not have any typos. If this URL have typos, this will be detected only after authentication and may result in a message that you've received.
