does not work behind proxy (wpad)

We have wpad for automatic proxy configuration in use. Catlight gives a connection timeout error while starting and doesn't even allow us to use on-prem TFS. (menu grayed out)

thanks for the new update! it looks like we are one step further. But we still have an issue to successfully start it. It looks like the proxy exception doesn't get processed correctly from the IE settings (wpad) and catlight tries to connect through the proxy for the localhost connection (e.g. http://127.0.0.1:32418/Home/GetStatus)

wouldn't it be possible for catlight to always connect without the proxy to 127.0.0.1? this would reduce the possible problems quite a bit.

after some time it displays the following error:

Thanks for reporting this. Looks like this part of the app does not use proxy and throw exception on connection problem. We'll try to fix this.

That annoying message should no longer appear in 1.5.2.

The primary problem is that catlight can't be started without internet connection. It only shows the animated gears loading screen. (and grayed out menus)

we don't have proxy authentication and even when no proxy is set in IE it doesn't open.

This can happen if proxy is still somehow configured in the system (maybe there is a system-wide override that applies), and that configuration does not exclude 127.0.0.1 from proxying.

Catlight 1.5 now supports HTTP/HTTPS proxies that require authentication - http://catlight.helprace.com/i54-support-for-http-proxy-with-authentication-on-windows

Also, make sure that ip address 127.0.0.1 is not forwarded through the proxy. You can configure this in OS proxy exclusion list.

Hi Daniel,

Catlight should automatically use system-wide proxy settings that are configured in Internet Explorer options/Connections/LAN Settings. Please make sure that they are configured correctly.

Generally, if your are able to open TFS web web from Internet Explorer, it should be accessible to Catlight.

We had a report from user that app cannot connect to TFS when proxy requires authentication - this is a missing app feature and you can vote for it here - http://catlight.helprace.com/i27-proxy-authentication
